Soie d'Alger is an assembly of 7 strands with a moderate sheen, easily separable, and made from schappe silk.
Soie d'Alger can be used similarly to classic milled thread in all your needlework projects, using one or more strands depending on the medium.
It is favored by leading embroiderers, restorers, and carpet manufacturers. Moreover, it is easy to split, making it ideal for a wide range of applications in bobbin lace, embroidery on canvas, and silk gauze.
The name "Alger" refers to a manufacturing process, not the city.
Skeins of 45 meters.
