Floral Bedfordshire

Yvonne Scheele-Kerkhof

$ 65.00  CAD

Description:

Bedfordshire lace is an English lace from the 19th century.
It is characterized by the contrast between the light and delicate background and the fairly dense cloth stitch or grid patterns.
(For the lacemaker that means: always adding and eliminating bobbins, which does not make the work easier.)
In this book, there are first of all all the subtleties of the Bedfordshire technique such as the handling of gimp threads, plaits, picots, and tallies rolled or posed on the fabric, added it and the elimination of the bobbins.
Then the author offers us 40 new floral designs, mostly medallions, ornaments for clothing and two pockets. Lots of diagrams, photos, explanations, all the dives. For already expert lacemakers and those who are on the right track.
