Giuliana Buonpadre
In Herbarium, the author demonstrates how to create embroidery that frees motifs from their rigidity, making them more lifelike and dynamic. The journey begins with "Miranda's Sampler," published at the end of her manual Fior di Reticello No. 5.
While she still deeply appreciates classic reticello, the author is increasingly inclined to explore and introduce reticello in color, as showcased in this volume. Once the secret of the movements is mastered, one can ‘play’ with imagination and embrace this newfound freedom.
This volume is all about flowers, numerous designs that the author created after her initial experience. While these flowers may differ from those in Fior di Reticello, their execution method is largely similar. These floral designs are perfect for decorating household linens, lampshades, curtains, or even creating small tableaux vivants.
The book is filled with tips, notes, and explanations on materials, colors, and the order of work. For some elements, there are also thread diagrams or sketches, all complemented by numerous illustrations and detailed photographs of the work.
