Idrija Lace – Broad Tape 1
This book presents the first 8 of 15 traditional patterns from the Idrija Municipal Museum collection.
The remaining patterns are featured in Idrija Lace – Broad Tape 2.
These historical designs likely originated in Idrija during the late 19th and early 20th centuries and are intended to be worked using the široki ris (broad tape) techniques characteristic of traditional Idrija lace.
Each pattern has been carefully reinterpreted by local lace experts for modern lacemakers.
Every project includes:
A photograph of the original archival pattern
A digitized version based on the historical material
A colour-coded working diagram
Photographs of the finished lace created from the redrawn pattern
An exceptional resource for lacemakers interested in authentic traditional Idrija lace techniques and historical designs.
